ย โHope deferred makes the heart sick, but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life.โ
(Proverbs 13:12, The Message)
Like others who have become โthe older generationโ before us, we baby boomers discover the truth behind the clichรฉs of everyday life.
A plaque on the kitchen wall in the farm home of a retired couple in the first parish we served declared,ย โToo soon old, Too late smart.โ All too true!
We may have gotten older (and deferred our dreams in the process), but thankfully it isnโt too late to live some of our dreams. We only have to wake up and stop telling ourselves we have to defer the actual living of our dreams โuntil we are retiredโ and โwe can afford it.โ
Often, people tell me that travel is at the top of the list of their dreams for retirement. โI canโt wait to be retired, so I can see the world!โ Why wait?
You can see the world now. Thatโs right, home exchanges take away the economic impossibility of your dream โto see the worldโโnow.
Home exchanges bring the added benefit of โliving like a localโ as you travel.
Jimmy Buffet sings a song, “Someday I Will.”
Donโt put off your dream to see the world. Someday is here.
